The Viral Thinking (Re)Design

As you might well know I keep myself busy with a variety of exciting entrepreneurial projects that seem to branch off in several different directions orbiting around design. With all of that going on in my life it seemed obvious that I would need a place to share my discovery with the rest of you, so I created Viral Thinking… A Place for Entrepreneurs. As I began to realize that my entrepreneurial tree was once again sprouting in a new direction with the creation of Papertree Design it seemed necessary that the Viral Thinking theme be created by it’s owner, this supposed web designer. As a side note here, I still very much enjoy the simple beauty of the Modicus Theme created by Upstart Blogger which is why I choose to remain simple and clean with the new VIral theme.

Moving on to the theme creation. As I have lately emmersed myself in the exploration of typography and grid layout systems, i decided to create this theme as sort of an experiment in both. I feel that I have done quite a good job at effectively using both and I am very happy with the end result. To me I see a clean and well organized layout that draws attention to the purpose of the site and that is the knowledge that I hope to share through writing. You will find no fancy gradients or flashy web 2.0 effects with this one, just simple yet beautiful layout.

My second hope for this theme was to improve my standing in the search engines through optimization. Ultimately your content plays the leading role, because without it there would be nothing to index your site for, however there are simple tactics that I hoped to incorporate to capitalize on that content. What I hoped to have done is improve the flow in how that content is found. I will continue to tweak and experiment as the theme develops and more than likely document the process on the blog itself.

So that is the new Viral (re)design in a nutshell, I encourage you to visit the site and share your honest opinion. There is always room for improvement.
