Upon entering what I have jokingly referred to as my “semi-retirement” phase (read more on my personal blog), I will be shifting focus to personal projects once again. With that I am planning an upgrade to the Charlene theme to incorporate many of the refinements and improvements I have made in the framework I build most of my projects from. In addition to the planned upgrade which is already underway, I will be releasing a series of Child Themes built from Charlene. Some of them will require a small fee to purchase, others will be totally free. This idea stems from a recent post “Obsessed with Child Themes?.
While I had intended to first finish other themes I have been working to release I was stopped short by a recent theme support request and decided instead to focus on improving Charlene. After all 90 some people have downloaded the theme at the time of this writing so I at least owe it to them to make some improvement.
Additionally during this time I will start writing up a series of articles sharing some of the things I have learned and experimented with since the last time I really got serious with writing about WordPress.
If you have experimented with the Charlene theme be sure to subscribe to updates here for news on the coming upgrade.
