The close of 2008 upon and the doors of 2009 swinging open before me. It can be an exciting marker, the New Year. For some it means a clean slate and new beginnings. For me it is just a nice time to reflect on the days past, thinking of what I have accomplished and what is yet to come.
Outside of closing the books and wrapping a few loose ends however it really becomes a day just like any other. Really each day should be a fresh start, a new beginning filled with all the wonder and excitement that this day we mark as the New Year can bring. The goals I make now are no different from the goals I made yesterday and deserve no more or no less attention.
But… if I did have to set some goals and resolutions for the New Year I would have to say that this New Year is about getting better. Perfecting the skills I have and learning the new, taking on projects that push me and taking on projects that I truly enjoy. Really begin to realize the true reason that I looked towards freelancing and entrepreneurship in the first place.
The second goal would be to make a promise. A promise to this blog and to those that read it. A promise to bring you along on this journey of mine in hopes that you could learn with me. To become truly useful to both my clients and to my readers. To provide you with a thing of value, whether it be beautiful and useful design or just the knowledge that led me to create it.
The New Year to me is about taking the skills and knowledge I have gained in the past and improving, accomplishing those things which I saw for the future, and learning those things which I have not yet had the time to learn.
